TIP: When To Visit Napa Valley
Everyone wants to come to Napa in Summer, but Summer brings crowds that will remind you of Christmas at Costco. Unless you like standing in lines, fighting for a spot at the tasting bar, and sky-high hotel rates, avoid Summer.
The best time to visit Napa is Fall, meaning Sept to October. This is “crush” time when they harvest the grapes. You want to see a winery in action, you come in Fall. November is also nice because the weather is still good but the crowds and rates have dropped. The second best time is Spring when the mustard plants are all in bloom. This is a “gotta see it believe it”, but everywhere you look you’ll see brilliant bright mustard plants with eye-popping color! It’s like you stepped into an HD Plasma TV and someone turned the colors on full blast! There will be no grapes on the vines, but you hardly notice
Note: Everyone wants discount coupons these days, and who can blame them with most wineries charging at least $10 per person and some charging $20! A good place to find both Napa and Sonoma wine tasting coupons is right here or now there is an app with all the coupons right here!

RECOMMENDED DESTINATIONS
Back to this winery, you can learn so much just from looking the different leaves, the buds, the factory where they processed the grapes and how to differentiate the red wines. The Owner/Winemaker Seminar Tour ($75) is held at 10am daily. This is a small group tour with a maximum of 8 people, so it is intimate and personal, and it offers plenty of opportunities to ask questions and to converse with the owner. It is by reservation only. During peak seasons and weekends, I highly recommend that you make your reservations weeks ahead to avoid disappointment.
The best part of the deal is, if you purchase wines equivalent to or more than $75, then the touring fee is waived.
The patio affords stunning views of the rolling hills and rows of vines bursting with fruit. The VIP patio is even more beautiful. Had a lovely glass of rosé to keep the wine country heat at bay. With their winding staircase entrance, amazing views inside the bar area and the upstairs level to drink al fresco – absolutely stunning!
Mumm Napa (8445 Silverado Trl Napa, CA 94558)
If you like sparkling wine and are in the valley you have to give Mumm a try. Great choice for bachelorettes/girls day out! It was nice to try something different from the usual wines. Although We are not a big fan of sparkling wines, their drinks were surprisingly good and refreshing.
They usually have two different flights, so split two tastings with a friend/ significant other so you can try them all! They have small bites as well and when you mix the food with the wine it really brings out the flavors of both. The cheese/ fruit/ nut plate is to die for and matches the sparkling wines very well. I highly recommend adding it to your tasting. Bottoms up!
The food portions are small and can be finished within 1-2 bites. They serve stuffed mushroom, flatbread, short rib, foie gras, and BBQ chicken roll to pair with Maldonado Chardonnay, Blend 23 (white blend), Blend 24 (red blend), Stagecoach Cabernet, and Stagecoach Syrah, respectively. The wine and food pairings went perfectly together; the food brought out the taste of the wine. The quality of the food was top notch!
